How it works

What is included in a villa stay

A private villa is not a hotel, and the difference shows up in what is included. At Villa Aniri it is housekeeping every morning, the pool and garden kept, and security at night; a chef, a driver, a massage or a yoga teacher are arranged separately, usually a day ahead.

What is part of every stay

Housekeeping comes every morning: beds made, bathrooms cleaned, floors done, rubbish gone. The pool and garden are kept, so the water is clear and the lawn is tidy by the time anyone surfaces. There is security on the property at night.

None of this is a paid extra; it is part of the rate, quoted in rupiah.

What is arranged separately

A private chef, who plans the menu with you a day ahead and cooks in the villa kitchen. In-villa massage. A yoga teacher. Babysitting. Laundry. Drivers, by the hour or the day, restaurant tables and day trips. Ask the day before, tell us the outcome you want rather than the logistics, and it is arranged.

These are services booked through Villa Aniri with people who do them for a living, not tasks added to housekeeping — which is why they are priced and arranged separately.

What a villa gives you that a hotel room does not

The whole property is yours: nobody else at the pool, nobody at the next table at breakfast. A kitchen, so a late start does not depend on a restaurant being open. Room for a group to be together in the evening and apart at night. And a house that feels lived in rather than serviced.

The trade is the other side of the same coin: there is no front desk and no restaurant on the premises. What you want, you arrange; the arranging is simple, but it is yours to ask for.

Asking for more, or for less

Some guests want the house organised down to the table and the driver; some want it to themselves. Both are ordinary requests. Say on the first morning what suits you — a later clean, a quick one, a day skipped — and that is how the stay runs.

Before you arrive

Arrival directions, Wi-Fi and the house details reach you through the guest app run by The Bali Agent, which also handles reservations and payments. See how booking and payment work.

This guide keeps to what we can vouch for: this house, this lane, and things that are simply true of Bali. Where it would need a fact we have not checked — a restaurant’s current form, a price we do not set, a rule that changes — we have left it out rather than guessed, and said who to ask instead. If something here is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it.
